Tardiness

According to the student handbook, any student who is not in their seat when the bell rings for the start of class will be marked tardy.
If any student arrives late for school, they must sign in at the office and receive a pass permitting them to their class.

For every THREE TARDIES a student accumulates, it will equal ONE UNEXCUSED absence.

Excessive Absences

Good attendance is crucial to positive class participation and performance.
Letters will be sent home to parents after a student has accumulated FIVE unexcused absences.

Local authorities will also be notified for any student below the age of compulsory education in the state of Michigan.

If excessive unexcused absences OR tardies continue for any student – it is defined as Truancy.
Truancy is considered a very serious act of misconduct and will be treated severely by the administration and/or teachers.
